Landarc Associates, Inc. provided planting and irrigation design and construction plans for this 1.77 acre medium density housing project. The housing consisted of 25 semi-attached townhomes with common space areas. The project direction transitioned toward the end of the project to enable the project to attain a “Build it Green” status. We worked with these new challenges to adjust planting and irrigation design direction to help with this transition. The plant palette used drought tolerant plant material, as well as high efficiency irrigation components including an irrigation controller that receives weather information from NOAA weather systems. The estimated construction budget for planting and irrigation was $300,000.
